Antique Butchers Block With Through Drawers

A wonderfully substantial late 19th / early 20th century butcher’s block, full of character from years of genuine working use.

Constructed with a beautifully worn end grain chopping block top set within a substantial timber frame. Original iron corner straps and a chunky pine base. Beneath are two deep through drawers accessible from either side, making this a particularly practical piece for use as a freestanding kitchen island or prep table.

The top has developed an incredible surface over the years, with chopping marks, undulations, gaps and movement between the individual blocks – all part of its history and exactly what we love about these original working pieces.

A genuine antique working piece with considerable age related wear, marks, knocks, splits, movement and irregularities throughout, particularly to the chopping surface. These are entirely consistent with its original use and form an integral part of its character.
